Benjamin Strauß absolvierte ein Musikstudium am Berklee College of Music in den USA. Danach lebte er zwei Jahre in New York, um dort als Musiker zu arbeiten und privat weiter zu studieren.
Unterricht bei: John Riley (Bob Mintzers und Village Vanguard Big Bands), Tommy Campbell (Manhattan Transfer/Ray Anderson), Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny Group).
Zurück in Berlin gründete Strauß die Berlin Big Band – ein Jazz-Orchester, das sich als die Bigband mit dem modernsten Repertoire und vielen der besten Musiker der Hauptstadt etabliert hat. Außerdem arbeitet er als Freelancer für vielfältige Projekte, in Aufnahmestudios und Theatern

Benjamin is a very versatile musician for Live, Tour & Studio, and a seasoned stage performance pro, being the founder, artistic director & drummer of the BERLIN BIG BAND, playing as sideman in various musical settings, and as a musician for various international cruise lines, and working as studio musician.
After attending Berklee College of Music (USA), from where he graduated with a B.A. in Professional Music (Magma Cum Laude), Benjamin moved to New York City where he performed in various NYC-clubs and broadened his musical skills.
Private lessons with John Riley (Village Vanguard and Bob Mintzer Big Bands), Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny Group) and Tommy Campbell (Manhattan Transfer) complemented his comprehensive skill set.
